Bio
Kimberly Geter is an African American actor, singer, and voice over artist raised. In Lawton, Oklahoma who was born on a military base at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Her parents moved before her senior year in high school to Atlanta, Georgia where she finished at Northside School of the Arts in Atlanta, GA. A performer at heart, she went to Georgia State University in music education with a voice concentration under the guidance of Florence Kopleff, contralto. Kimberly did an acting internship at Actor’s Express Theatre for one year before starting her career in music education. She had a stellar career in music education as a K-8 choral conductor and music educator in DeKalb County School District. During her tenure, she pursued acting when available. She earned her graduate degree at New York University, with a MA in Educational Theatre to supplement teaching music. This aspiration continued by working at the Alliance Theatre Company as a drama educator during the summers and weekends under the leadership of Al Hamacher. Upon his retirement, Kimberly focused on her students during the pandemic until her retirement in 2024-2025 in arts education.
Looking beyond arts education, Kimberly decided to pursue acting, singing, and voiceover fulltime. She sang under Dr. Uzee Brown Society of Choraliers at Morehouse College at retirement. Currently, Kimberly sings with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chorus under the leadership of Norman MacKenzie and Nathalie Stutzmann, conductor for the 2026-2027 season. She also works as a voiceover talent, primarily as a narrator, and enjoys animation by meeting people and working in projects with members of the Creators Society in LA. Her company is Geter Voice Over Services, LLC. Kimberly returned to film, television, and commercial work under Kathleen Schultz Associates, with Los Angeles and Atlanta Branches with Kathleen Schultz, owner, Lori Thelkeld, theatrical, and Sally DeBacco, commercial agents in Atlanta, GA.
Kimberly has a four-octave vocal range but enjoys singing alto the most by creating beautiful harmonies. Kimberly enjoys exercise, lifting weights, finance and remains a lacto-ovo vegetarian but a pescatarian at restaurants. She enjoys taking care of her fur animals and chatting with former students when working in education.
